II : The maximum lightweight Racing-Combo for the 1098 , means : Fueltank+ Airbox+ Fueltank-Cover+ Tailsection will be ready for Sale end of November 2008 .
Weight savings estimated : 27.6 lbs , but probably even more. Only 4 pieces - and drastically lowered center of Gravity !!OEM Optics I will keep , and all OEM Ducati or aftermarket Parts ( I.E: air runners ) will  fit .

From now on, as the development of real Ducati 1098 Performance Racing Parts is done so far, I will focus myself on the Production of the Parts which have been already developed. Even most of those Parts are at present not available in my online-Shop I could start to fab some Parts.

I am not sure to be able to offer my Durbahn-1098 Concept Parts to a broad Public, but I will be able to fabricate the Stuff on special request for a couple of customers during Wintertime here (~ October to May) , because there's plenty of Time involved in this Setup.

Weight Savings of :

• Rotating Mass
• Unsprung Mass

While the Ducati OEM Brakedisc is at 1000 gr. ( 2.2 lbs) at 240 mm - my Brakedisc weights only 470 gr. ( 1.0 lbs ) at 220 mm
Through the decreased Diameter + the drastically weight loose, the rotating Inertia of my Disc is only ~ 28% of the OEM.

That leads into noticeable better handling and Suspension response, also considered, that the rear caliper also weights 324 gr. less than the OEM Caliper ( 0.71 lbs ).
Of course the small caliper has not the stopping Power of the OEM Caliper, but this Setup wasn't designed for transport of passengers.
Designed purely for weight and Racing Performance, so for those who seldom use the rear Brake.

The Caliper-hanger is designed to accept the OEM Speed Sensor, the Brakedisc has 4 Nubs ( same as OEM Disc) so the Speed-reading is same as OEM.

But I've included a special for those who'd like to for a very sensitive Traction Control in the future maybe:
The outside of the rear Brakedisc is grooved 40 "Readerslots" , which allow to monitor and to control the Rear Wheel Speed every driven 2" !!

- 220mm lighweight rear Brake disc, with 4 Nubs to keep Speed-reading Signal ( and already TC reader-Slots Provisions outside)
- Lighweight rear Brake Caliper ( ISR ) including Pads
- Lightweight 218 gr. Hanger with mounting Spot for OEM Speed Sensor

~ Only 130 Euros per 1 kg ( 2.2 lbs ) of lost weight !!
If you sell the Bits which will be replaced it costs you close to nothing  !

What you see here - on the first look may seem to be a OEM 1098.
But , there's a huge weight saving included , it's the Tailsection .

The first Carbon Monocoque Tailsection is done - the weight saving by only this single Part is more than 13lbs , or 6kg !!
All in one ,Tailsection and Subframe ....you might see , that there is no Subframe.

Buy a Titanium Subframe ,  a lightweight Tailsection ........ you'll never achieve this weight-saving .

Explanation/Delivery Content/FAQ's :
- This Tailsection is designed for Race and road and made from 100% Carbon Fiber .
- For Road you HAVE TO mount a small Taillight at the OEM or Aftermarket Hanger .
- You are able to mount the OEM Bracket for license-Plate, etc., ( M6 Insets )
- This Tailsection is build as ONE PIECE , for structural strength .
- Seatpad is included
- It will be delivered in black or grey gelcoat , ready to paint
- Used Mounting spots are OEM , front mounting spot can be reinforced , or I can deliver a Carbon-support Bracket, bolt on.
- Rear mounting spot for the Fueltank is integrated into the Tailsection
- Usual Time to mount this Monocoque Tailsection at your 1098 : below 60 Minutes .
- Usual Time to remove it / put it on , once it is mounted ~ 3 Minutes

Even the spacers at the front wheel are built in and cannot fall out at Installation !!                             

1098 Fairing w/closed belly Pan

If I start with a modelwork of a new designed/modified  fairing  I am normally not crazy , so I first check the Market , if there's some Quality Fairing on Market . I always expect the usual crap , but this Time I was very surprised by a German manufacturer , the fairing I got was real quality stuff .
Very good fit , well done work - a fairing , which is even worth to paint !!

   Upper + both sides + lower ( closed to catch Oil.... in case)
